For those of you who missed classes before the "Alarm Status", you need to do the all the activities from page 1. I leave you here the grammar tutorials and answers to the exercises.

Page 1: Possession: Saxon Genitive ('s)

Ok. Let's move on. We have seen that we use the PRESENT SIMPLE to express ROUTINES. Today, we are going to learn a new tense, the PRESENT CONTINUOUS, to express ACTIONS WE ARE DOING NOW.

First, we are going to see the spelling rules when we add -ing.

Today, we are going to see the difference in use between Present Simple and Present Continuous. Basically,
  • We use Present Simple for ROUTINES: I usually get up at 7.30 am.
  • We use Present Continuous to express actions that are happening NOW: I am watching the news right now.

My partner can swim (but he doesn't like it too much); he can drive (and he loves it); he can fly a kite (actually, he can kitesurf); he can make a birdhouse (he's very good with woodwork); he can dance and he can skate (even ice-skate); but neither he can't juggle a soccer ball (he hates soccer) nor he can't paint well.
